M.Sc. Health Policy & Health Systems Requirements

  1. Description: Consists of course work and a dissertation report based on a research project. Consequently, the relevant provisions of the Regulations Governing Higher Degrees for Master’s degree programmes primarily by course work shall apply. To qualify for the award of the degree a candidate must earn a minimum of 36 credits, including research project 6 credits and other compulsory courses. Every candidate must take all the compulsory courses. Dissertation report is to be orally defended before a panel incorporating an External Examiner.   2. Eligibility (Entry Requirements): The Ebonyi State University General Regulations for Higher Degrees shall apply. Specifically, the Regulations Governing Higher Degrees and Diplomas of Ebonyi State University stipulate that a good first degree of Ebonyi State University or other approved Universities in the relevant fields and professional qualifications approved by senate on recommendation of the Postgraduate Board is required for entry into this programme. For M.Sc. in Health Policy & Health Systems , the following are the entry requirements:
    1. MBBS or a good B.Sc. (Hons.) degree (at least second class) in health sciences, social sciences, biological sciences or other relevant sciences related to health discipline, of the Ebonyi State University or from other approved Universities.
    2. A three-year post bachelor degree working experience in the health sector or related recognized organizations, or educational institutions (as in the case of health researchers with evidence of involvement in health-related research).
    3. Successfully undertaking and passing the written and oral entry interview to be conducted by the African Institute for Health Policy & Health Systems Studies, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
